Dive into Culturally Relevant Texts:
Engage in diverse readings and take part in discussions on relevant literature with an emphasis on theological, philosophical, ethical and psychological themes as well as contemporary issues.
Purpose:
- Inoculate a lasting desire to read.
- Empower people to access further literature.
- Develop an appreciation for a variety of social themes.
- Broaden horizons in thought.
Our Principles:
- Respect all members of the group.
- Embrace the willingness to question what you believe.
- Appreciate a diversity of perspectives.
- Share your understanding. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and contribute! We rely on cooperation for everyone to benefit
- Actively create chances for dialogue. Bring people into conversations
- Be mindful of the structure set out by facilitators.
- Challenge others respectfully.
- Be proactive in any set readings prior to the class.
- Let ideas flow and try to jot them down in the session.
